Airport Police justified in actions over illegal parking

A man claiming damages against Dublin airport stating he had been assaulted by Airport Police has lost his case in front of Judge Linnane at the Circuit Court. Dermot Lennon claimed that Dublin airport police choked him and used unreasonable force. The judge however deemed that that actions the airport staff was justified. Mr Lennon parked illegally in the drop off area to collect his family after their holiday, but after refusing to move, the airport police were called. The judge said that he was aggressive and unruly and that physical action was need to deal with him. He used abusive language and was kicking and raising his hands threateningly. She continued that the force used by the police was not accessive and then ordered Mr Lennon to pay the court expenses for the DAA.
