Ryanair followed up the UK's Competition Commission's ruling that BAA Ltd., the UK's main airports operator, should sell 2 of its airports, by calling on the Irish government to force the DAA (Dublin Airport Authority) to sell either Cork or Shannon airport.
A Ryanair spokesman stated that selling Cork airport to the highest bidder would net around €1 billion, enough to pay off the majority of the DAA's debt.
